Using this site means accepting these terms. They are written in plain English because terms nobody can read protect nobody.

What this site is

SoftWaterSystemCost is an independent publication about water-treatment costs. It is not a plumbing contractor, a water-treatment dealer, an engineering service, or a laboratory. Nothing here is professional plumbing, legal, financial, or health advice. Our numbers are researched, sourced, and dated — and they are still estimates and published ranges, not quotes. Your project’s real price comes from a written quote by a licensed local professional; your water’s real chemistry comes from your utility’s report or a lab test; your local plumbing code outranks anything written here.

Calculators are estimators

Our interactive tools run arithmetic on sourced figures and clearly labelled assumptions. They exist to help you understand and compare quotes — not to replace them. A calculator’s output is not a promise of price, savings, suitability, or performance, and several of our tools will decline to answer at all where an input (a lab test, a vendor’s price) is missing — that refusal is a feature, and it is also your model for how to treat any single number on the internet, including ours.

Accuracy, corrections, and no warranty

We work hard on accuracy — the build pipeline machine-checks links, tests calculator branches, and dates figures — and prices still float, sources still move, and errors still happen. Content is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. Found something wrong? Corrections outrank everything. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SoftWaterSystemCost and its author are not liable for decisions made, equipment purchased, or losses incurred in reliance on this site — the whole design of the site is to help you verify, precisely so you never have to rely.

Affiliate relationships

Some links earn us a commission, marked and explained in the affiliate disclosure. These terms incorporate that disclosure; the short version is that our recommendations run on your water chemistry and published data, not on the commission, and every page must remain useful with the links removed.

Using our content

Everything here is copyright SoftWaterSystemCost unless attributed. You may quote and cite freely with attribution and a link — journalists and publishers citing our 50-state study are explicitly welcome, methodology and all. You may not republish articles wholesale, scrape the site into a competing product, or present our tools as your own. Third-party marks (SpringWell, Rheem, and every other brand analysed here) belong to their owners; naming a company to analyse its published pricing is not affiliation or endorsement in either direction.

External links are provided for sourcing; we do not control their content. We may update the site and these terms at any time; the effective date below moves when we do.
